Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator (Permanent) - Ricketts Glen State Park

Do you have experience in maintaining wastewater treatment plants? The Department of Conservation & Natural Resources is on the lookout for a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator who will play a crucial role in the skilled operation and maintenance of two sewage treatment facilities. In this role, you will have the opportunity to oversee operation in both the Ricketts Glen State Park and Frances Slocum State Park wastewater systems. This is a skilled work position, responsible for the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment collection systems and plants, potable water storage and distribution systems located at Ricketts Glen State Park and Frances Slocum State Park. This employee maintains all required certifications and adheres to laws, regulations and permits enforced by federal, state or local regulatory authorities. You will report to Ricketts Glen State Park and travel to Frances Slocum State Park on a scheduled or as needed basis for operation of both park's wastewater systems. Daily during the operating season, you will have the opportunity to inspect lift stations, pumps and water distribution systems. You will be expected to perform preventive maintenance on sewage and water treatment equipment in addition to routine facility maintenance.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch
• Days/shifts will vary, will work 5 days, 37.5 hrs. per week to include holidays and weekends when needed.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Successful completion of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) program and certification as a wastewater treatment plant operator for any class and type of plant; or
• Possession of a valid certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators as a wastewater treatment plant operator for any class and type of plant.

Special Requirements:

• This position requires you to have possession of a valid certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater System Operators as a wastewater treatment plant operator. Requires minimum of PA DEP Wastewater Operator class B1 and E4 certifications.
• This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
