Role
Under limited general direction, combines expertise in User Experience, Business Analysis, and Data Analysis to bridge business needs with technical solutions. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements, analyzing data, and offering recommendations to support strategic decisions.
Essential Responsibilities
- Elicits, documents, and validates business requirements from stakeholders using various techniques (e.g., interviews, workshops, surveys).
- Analyzes and decomposes complex business problems into clear, concise requirements.
- Creates detailed requirement specifications, including use cases, user stories, and process flows.
- Analyzes data from various sources to identify integration points, data quality issues, trends, patterns, and opportunities.
- Prepares data-driven reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Troubleshoots and drives data issue resolution.
- Collaborates with data modelers and data engineers to ensure data quality and integrity. Has good understanding of data normalization, de-normalization, ETL.
- Identifies inefficiencies and bottlenecks in business processes.
- Recommends process improvements and assist in their implementation.
- Measures the impact of process changes and makes necessary adjustments.
- Drives data governance by populating the systems with metadata.
- Assists project managers in defining project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Tracks project progress and identifies potential risks and issues.
- Facilitates communication between project stakeholders and the development team.
- Builds strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, manages their expectations, and addresses concerns.
- Facilitates effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 4-6 years related experience preferred.
- Experience in Waste Management a big plus.
- Previous Data Analyst and Business Analyst roles.
- Certification in data management, data science, computer science, information systems, or a related field preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in data analysis and use of visualization tools like Excel, SQL, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to convey proposed solutions through natural language, diagrams, and design patterns.
- Experience in data modeling, ETL development, addressing data quality issues and in data governance.
- Project management and leadership skills gained through Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
