POSITION TITLE: SENIOR CREDIT ANALYST REPORTS TO: VP / CREDIT MANAGER DEPARTMENT: CREDIT ADMINISTRATION FLEXIBLE WORK PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY CODE: Hybrid Work (HW) FUNCTION: Responsible for underwriting and credit analytical activities, for the preparation of accurate, sufficient, and impartial credit analysis associated with commercial loan requests and/or modifications of existing and prospective borrowers and guarantors in accordance with Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Ensure timely completion of financial analysis requests and related written commercial loan proposals. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the underwriting and credit analytical activities of assigned commercial loan requests, including C&I, CRE, Construction, Asset Based Lending, Subdivision Lending, SWAPs, and Small Business Administration (SBA) product lines. Prepare timely, accurate, and independent credit analysis in accordance with Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze, underwrite, and present credit recommendations on commercial loan requests and/or modifications. Prepare timely, accurate, and independent credit analysis to determine general creditworthiness of existing and prospective borrowers and guarantors in accordance with Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Analysis will consist of an in-depth review of financial statements including balance sheets, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, borrowing base certificates, income statements, cash-flow statements, retained earnings, forecasting projections, business plans, corporate and personal tax returns, credit reports, rent rolls, leases, relevant credit and other information, and existing credit file information.
- Prepare timely, accurate, and independent credit analysis of the more complex new loan requests, line of credit renewals, extensions, modification requests, ACH requests and annual reviews of existing commercial loan relationships in accordance with Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Complete financial statements are distributed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Examine the nature and complexity of loan requests, including conducting appropriate and thorough industry research and background documentation. Analyze collateral, including multiple asset classes, analyze primary and secondary repayment ability, identify associated risks and mitigating factors, make risk rating recommendations, and provide additional recommendations as needed.
- Prepare credit proposals in accordance with Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, ensuring that all appropriate terms and conditions are included, and that sufficient information is provided with which informed credit decisions can be made. Recommend risk ratings and provide additional recommendations as needed.
- Deal directly with the Chief Credit & Senior Commercial Lending Officer, Chief Lending Officer, Commercial Loan Officers, commercial loan customers, and centers of influence in the preparation of written analysis for commercial loan requests and reviews.
- Review and monitor borrowing base certificates submitted by commercial borrowers for accuracy and completeness, as assigned by the Credit Manager. Ensure compliance with approved terms and conditions and prepare reports as required.
- As assigned by the Credit Manager, review and monitor financial loan covenants for compliance by commercial Borrowers in accordance with approved terms and conditions and prepare reports as required.
- Participates in Credit Committee Meetings
- Aids Commercial Lending Officers as needed
- Assist in the training and development of Credit Analyst I personnel
- Serve as the proxy/backup for the Credit Manager assisting with the day-to-day management of the workflow and Credit Analysts.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in finance or accounting required; Associate Degree considered with relevant equivalent experience. Bachelor's degree preferred. 6+ years of in-depth knowledge and exhibited competency in credit analysis, credit structuring, understanding, and applying credit policy, and commercial lending, including C&I, CRE, Construction, Asset Based Lending, Subdivision Lending, SWAPS, and SBA product lines is required. In-depth knowledge of applicable banking regulations. Strong working knowledge of accounting principles. Strong analytical skill sets. In-depth knowledge of loans and related legal documentation is required. Demonstrate the willingness to research, obtain, and analyze information for completion of various reports. Must have excellent communication skills sets, including written and verbal, and must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Salesforce, nCino, COCC, Integra, and Doc-U-Sign. Excellent time management ability, strong multi-tasking skill sets, and strong attention to detail are required. Strong interpersonal skills sets are also required.
