About the role:

Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research, market predictions and best practices for a broad range of world-leading organizations. A Director possesses a keen eye for identifying gaps, problems and solutions within the market they serve. They use their knowledge to help clients make better decisions, solve complex issues and execute new practices that propel clients' businesses toward key objectives. A Director publishes these insights as pragmatic and/or provocative research. Additionally, they reinforce Gartner's value every day by engaging clients via virtual meetings, sales support visits, Gartner conferences and industry events.

What you will do:

You will be a senior member of Gartner's team that conducts research and advises end-user IT executives on building and managing a high impact enterprise architecture/EA function. You will help Enterprise Architecture groups around the world as they support their internal business customers through complex initiatives, like digital transformation, and ensure their solution architectures are complete, complimentary and aligned to business outcomes. This includes the ability to:

  • Create high quality, clear, actionable, "must-have research" content on enterprise architecture based on research best practices and methodologies
  • Develop new research and ideas through thought leadership and offer compelling, actionable approaches to client's needs and requests that accelerate the client's ability to act
  • Identify the root cause of a client's barriers or overall needs and reframe thinking to drive strategy forward
  • Demonstrate thought leadership in establishing research positions across a team of analysts
  • Provide clients and prospects with actionable advice aligned to enterprise architecture via virtual interactions
  • Create and deliver presentation materials for Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefings
  • Provide high quality and timely research content peer review
  • Build credibility as an enterprise architecture domain expert to represent Gartner research, methodology and strategy
  • Actively participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions and collaborate effectively with peers in the research community

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experiencein Enterprise Architecture
  • Experience consulting for C-level business executives, IT executives, CIOs, Heads of EA, solution architects in both business and IT-led technology teams, i.e. application, infrastructure and cloud architects.
  • Evaluating solutions architecture requirements at end-user organizations for completeness and ability to enable and drive business outcomes.
  • Expertise in analyzing and describing best practices around the EA function with a focus on solutions architecture.
  • Ability to Influence, lead, and help business and IT executives deliver great business outcomes from their IT initiatives
  • Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions
  • Ability to work independently, while also being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams and support the workflow of others, in a multicultural global team
  • Demonstrate superior analytical skills, applying conceptual models, recognizing patterns while drawing and defending conclusions
  • Demonstrate excellence in research and writing ability
  • Subject matter expertise comfortable presenting at large and small-scale speaking engagements
  • Ability to effectively adjust communication style to different audiences
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of your time to Gartner events

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 132,000 USD - 167,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates.
