Responsibilities

As a System Administrator for our Physical Security Systems, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and testing critical systems such as Physical Access Control, CCTV, PSIM (Physical Security Information Management), and other Integrated Electronic Security Systems. A Systems Administrator 4 position is a SME/team lead position. Your role is pivotal to ensuring the continued functionality, performance, and security of these systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of reliability, efficiency, and compliance.

This position requires onsite support at a single work location in the Washington D.C. area. Candidates must be flexible in schedule, have the ability to travel, and be able to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers. Punctuality, attendance, willingness to learn, and the ability to work well with others are key to success in this role.

The Systems Administrator is responsible for day-to-day management, maintenance, and support of the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, virtualization, and other critical systems. This role involves configuring, troubleshooting, and ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of systems and services. The Systems Administrator will collaborate with other staff and departments to deliver optimal support and contribute to ongoing IT projects. In this position, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain and develop integrations between multiple physical security systems, streamlining their operation and ensuring they work cohesively across the enterprise. You will also be responsible for optimizing system performance, applying patches and updates, and continuously monitoring system logs to proactively identify and address any issues, minimizing system downtime.

Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting the accreditation of these systems, ensuring they meet the necessary standards and regulatory requirements for security and operational approval. This will involve maintaining thorough documentation, performing regular audits, and addressing compliance-related issues to ensure all systems align with the required accreditation guidelines.

You will be tasked with the creation and management of autonomous workflows, scripts, and system enhancements that improve operational efficiency and performance across our physical security infrastructure. You will also be involved in research and development (R&D) for new technologies, updates, and improvements to our enterprise software and applications, ensuring our systems remain at the cutting edge of the industry. This includes

evaluating emerging technologies, performing testing, and implementing updates and patches to maintain system integrity and security.

In addition, you will manage the creation, maintenance, and optimization of servers, workstations, and databases as applicable, ensuring that all systems run smoothly and securely. Your role will involve collaborating with various departments and stakeholders to address technical issues, troubleshoot problems, and developing solutions that support the overall mission of the organization.

  • Manage physical security system support to meet service level agreements
  • Analyze physical security system performance and recommend improvements
  • Resolve complex system issues for physical security systems
  • Triage customer support calls, providing Tier 3 escalation as needed
  • Communicate with customers, manufacturers, vendors, and technical specialists
  • Train system users and other system support personnel as needed
  • Analyze and modify preventive maintenance checklists for system changes
  • Troubleshoot system performance issues and implement corrective actions
  • Perform preventive maintenance actions including system back-ups, error log reviews, database size analysis, and integrity checks
  • Organize and prepare detailed documentation of system performance, including service request records, and analysis
  • Perform desktop hardware and operating system set-up, imaging software loading, and antivirus updates
  • Implementation of Server and Workstation patching and STIG remediation
  • Creation and modification to Interface Control Documents
  • Updates to System Security Plans, Configuration Management Documents, and Contingency Plans
  • Perform all duties with minimal direct supervision

Qualifications

Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; ACTIVE TS/SCI

Education/Experience:

  • Master's degree in computer science, Engineering Degree or a Related Technical Discipline with 5+ Years of progressive experience or
  • Bachelor's Degree and 7+ Years of progressive experience or
  • Associate's degree and 10+ Years of progressive experience or
  • HS Diploma or Equivalent and 12+ Years of progressive experience
  • Requires system administrator experience in performing triage on system problems, resolving system problems, analyzing system data to prevent problems, implementing new workstations, and system extensions.
  • Requires 2 + years of experience programming/administrating Physical Access Control Systems.
  • Requires system administrator experience in performing triage on system problems, resolving system problems, analyzing system data to prevent problems, implementing new workstations, and system extensions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Server 2019, 2022, and virtualization platforms like VMWare and Nutanix
  • Experience with SQL, Oracle, and other database repositories
  • Experience with data migration and mapping between systems
  • Requires 2+ years of experience programming/administrating Physical Access Control Systems, including but not limited to:
    • DMP
    • Genetec
    • Lenel
    • Milestone
    • Digitus
    • C-Cure
  • Requires an understanding of Windows patching and vulnerability remediation with ATO processes
  • Requires advanced knowledge of Windows active directory hierarchy and implementation.
  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills
  • Familiarization with Visio, PowerPoint, and other Office applications

Pay Range

USD $124,880.00 - USD $187,320.00 /Yr.
