Make your mark at the world's largest HVAC company Daikin Applied is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor responsible for overseeing daily procurement activities to ensure the timely, cost-effective acquisition of materials, components, accessories, and services that support manufacturing and business operations. - Come be a part of an exciting journey at Daikin Applied, where innovation and excellence drive our every endeavor! Location: In office, Staunton, VA. What you will do: Lead a team of buyers focusing on supplier relationship management, inventory planning, and driving continuous improvement in procurement processes and supply chain performance Manage supplier performance, resolve quality or delivery issues, and expedite critical materials when necessary Prepare instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepare market analysis report Develop a system to evaluate vendor quotations that utilizes appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service Design, implement, manage, and monitor procurement reporting systems to meet company requirements Recruit and maintain suppliers that provide high quality products and services at a better price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct Prepare and issue purchase orders and change notices Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy Prepare and review contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications Oversee all activities related to procurement of a commodity from intent to purchase through delivery of commodity Assign procurement requests to the appropriate personnel Negotiate or supervise the negotiation of complex requests for equipment, supplies, and services from suppliers and subcontractors Develop and install clerical and office procedures and practices and study workflow, sequence of operations, and office arrangement to determine expediency of installing new or improved office machines Arrange for disposal of surplus materials What's in it for you: The ability to make an impact and shape your career with a company that is passionate about growth The support of an organization that believes it is vital to include and engage diverse people, perspectives, and ideas to achieve our best Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience 6+ years' experience in procurement required with some people leading experience preferred Benefits: Daikin Applied offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: Multiple medical insurance plan options + dental and vision insurance 401K retirement plan with employer match Paid time off and company paid holidays Paid sick time in accordance with the federal, state, and local law Tuition Reimbursement after 6 months of continuous service The typical salary for this position ranges from $73,300-$117,200 in Virginia. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
