$3,179.63 to $3,497.59 biweekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. South Area/Melbourne/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs professional engineering work planning, designing, reviewing, inspecting and/or implementing assigned projects for the Public Works Department/Traffic Operations Program.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or closely related field, which includes experience related to transportation planning or traffic engineering. Engineering Intern/Engineer in Training certification is preferred. (Engineering Intern/Engineer in Training is a person who has graduated from an engineering curriculum approved by the Florida Board of Professional Engineers and who has passed the fundamentals of the engineering examination as provided by the rules adopted by that Board.) SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within nine (9) months of employment, a valid Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)/Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) certification and maintain said certification during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
