This position drivesSH&E improvements in complianceby providing leadership, development, implementation, and executionofSH&E Programs.The primary object of this role is to protect and improve theSafety& Healthof employees and siteEnvironmentalSustainability through prevention and encouragement of a culture where safety, health and environmental sustainability are ingrained as a core value. Provide SH&E Leadership
- Effectively lead, coach, and develop managers and line leaders across all functions to be effective SH&E leaders/coaches in their respective positions.
- Foster a culture where Safety, Health, and Environmental Sustainability are ingrained as a core value.
- Develop Site SH&E talent through active support, coaching and feedback with the goal of developing talent.
- Activelyparticipateand engage theSHE committee teamto act as an extension of the SH&E Team
- IdentifySH&E priorities, current & future challenges, and opportunities for improvements. Develop a holistic strategy and implementation plan, aligned with Grouppriorities & objectives. Guide implementation and communication of the strategy acrossNiM.
- Develop SH&E best-in-class programs, systems, and processes, including training and mentoring toestablishclear procedures on SH&E measures and precautions.
Implement Management Systems
- Ensure investigation of all SH&E-related incidents are properly conducted utilizing tools to drive to root cause andidentifyactions to prevent recurrence. Ensure all actions to prevent recurrence are effectively implemented while also ensuring an effective injury case management process is fully implemented, well understood, and functioning as desired.
- Maintain a budget that will support the SH&E functions of the Business. Will alsoassistother Department Managers in allottingappropriate fundingto complete SH&E goals.
- Ensure sitesmaintaincontinuous "audit ready" state of compliance with company SH&E policies and procedures as well as all applicable external regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement processes and procedures (SOP's) to ensure facility compliance with company and regulatory agency policies - including federal, state, and local legislationandregulationspertaining toworker safety and preservation of the environment.
Assess and Manage Risks
- Analyze SH&E conditions to recommend and drive changes tocontinuously improve facility SH&E performance.
- Lead effective implementation andutilizationof risk assessment and risk prediction processes across sites to ensure these are effective at identifying and mitigating hazards and are effectively communicated and understood by all affected employees.
- Assistin updating security risk and threat assessments relating to the facility and will escalate deficiencies identified.
Delight Consumers and Live up to Stakeholder Expectations
- Create a compelling understanding of Nestle SH&E values and inspire stakeholders to excel in compliance & continuous improvement, leveraging NCE Foundations and Advanced Practices (e.g.TPM, Lean Value Stream).
- Engage with external stakeholders (egregulatory bodies, trades unions) on SH&E topics to build long term, positive relationships.
- Maintain and reportaccurateSH&E data/metrics at the site as well as indesignatedNestle systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in safety, health, environmental or similar disciplinerequired.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in SH&E roles with the last position held as a Site SH&E leader and/or division, regional, or corporate safety and environmental experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Professional certifications in SH&E-related fields are considered beneficial and may include CSP, CIH, OHST, NEBOSH, etc.
- Registered as a safety professional with credentials and expertise certified by a recognized accrediting organization.
- ISO 45001 Lead Auditor Qualification.
- Proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams and various initiatives.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish networks of peers in the factory to lead without direct authority.
- Curiosity, proactivity, willingness, and ability to learn quickly, along with the courage to explore unknown areas and face challenging situations.
The approximate pay range for this position is $115,000 to $130,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
