This position plays a critical role in ensuring fiscal accuracy, compliance with fund agreements and institutional policies, and the maintenance of detailed financial records in Financial Edge. The Fiscal Specialist Sr. also delivers high-quality customer service to internal departments and external vendors, requiring strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders across ten community colleges. Additional Information This is a short term assignment with a projected end date of June 30, 2026 with renewal based on available funds and the needs of MCCCD. Essential Functions 55% - Process and manage accounts payable transactions for ten community colleges and the Foundation using Financial Edge accounting software. Pay vendors by validating fund agreements, reviewing expense reports, and preparing checks. Administer multiple grants by processing payments and stipends, monitoring fund balances, and preparing financial reports. Ensure all expenditures are accurate, authorized, allowable, and supported by sufficient funds. Serve as the primary contact for internal staff and external vendors regarding invoice processing, payment status, and issue resolution. Reconcile processed work by verifying fund availability and ensuring expenses are allowable under fund criteria. Monitor fund balances for all colleges, ensuring accounts are solvent and free of deficits. 25% - Maintain complete, organized, and auditable financial documentation in compliance with internal and external standards. Prepare and distribute financial reports, correspondence, and ad hoc documents. Collaborate with staff and college leadership to ensure timely and accurate reporting and compliant use of funds. 10% - Financial Edge: invoice creation, check printing, backup scanning, document uploads, and vendor communications. 10% Other duties as assigned - Deliver high-level customer service to a diverse constituency, including board members, development staff, donors, faculty, and external vendors Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and four (4) years of financial support experience in an area related to assignment such as fiscal, finance, accounts receivable/payable, or payroll. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.
