Required to be US Citizen for this role Network Engineer - Subject Matter Expert (SME) Location: Cambridge, MA (100% Onsite) Company: TEKsystems Employment Type: Contract to Hire Clearance Required: Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance About the Role TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Network Engineer - SME to support a high-impact federal program in Cambridge, MA. This is a hands-on, expert-level role focused on designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures in a secure, mission-critical environment. Key Responsibilities * Lead the transition from IPv4 to IPv6 across enterprise networks. * Manage and maintain Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) environments. * Design, implement, and troubleshoot advanced network architectures. * Collaborate with IT teams and application owners to ensure network stability and scalability. * Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives. * Develop and enforce network policies, procedures, and change management processes. * Integrate physical and virtual network environments. Required Qualifications * 10+ years of experience in network engineering and architecture. * Expertise in: * Cisco ISE * Palo Alto Firewalls * Cisco Firepower VPN * Cisco ACI & DNAC * IPv6, DHCP, DNS, VPN, MPLS, MTIPS * BGP, EIGRP, QoS * Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. * Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Preferred Qualifications * Cisco CCIE Certification. * Experience with virtualization networking technologies. * Prior experience supporting federal government agencies. (but not required) Additional Requirements * Must be able to work on a W2 with at least 3 years of U.S. residency. * Must be able to complete the eApp National Investigation Services (NBIS) form. * Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance (2-3 month process). * Must have excellent communication skills Work Environment * Location: Cambridge, MA * Schedule: Monday-Friday, core business hours * Work Type: 100% Onsite (no remote/hybrid options) Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $72.11 - $79.32/hr.
