Postdoctoral position is available for September 1, 2025 (or later) at the Massachusetts General Brigham Cancer Center for an outstanding candidate interested in cancer biology or translational cancer research. Our laboratory is interested in how mutations in isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) alter the biology of glioma brain tumors and how this information can be leveraged to improve treatments for this disease. Our interests lie in basic questions of how mutant IDH affects gliomagenesis and therapeutic stress response, as well as translational questions including how mutant IDH inhibitors may be best employed for this disease.
Our work encompasses a wide range of in vitro and in vivo experimental techniques including CRISPR screening, gene induction and knockdowns, protein biochemistry, transgenic mouse modeling, flow cytometry, and bioinformatic interrogation of clinical samples. MGH is a highly collaborative environment, and our laboratory is within both the Department of Radiation Oncology and the Krantz Family Center for Cancer Research. We are involved in collaborations with multiple other research programs within the scientific community at Harvard and at outside institutions, including programs in functional genomic screening, metabolism, and epigenetics. Previous experience in DNA damage biology, mouse models, and/or computational biology, is especially valued. Highly motivated candidates with an MD or PhD and a strong background in molecular and cellular biology please send CV to Diana Shi, MD at dshi1@mgb.org. Massachusetts General Physicians Organization, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer. By embracing diverse skills, perspectives and ideas, we choose to lead.
