Position Summary

The Staff Test Engineer (ENG 4) independently applies knowledge of testing and systems engineering to advanced manned subsea projects per Oceaneering Technology's Standard Approach to Testing. Effective application of evaluation, verification, and validation techniques for test, demonstration, and certification requirements is expected.
The Staff Test Engineer will generate test plans and procedures, lead test efforts locally and in the field, support engineering and design test-related activities, and coordinate multi-disciplined teams including engineers, technicians, and other support staff. Professional interaction with customers or clients can be expected on a frequent basis and in some cases may be a significant portion of duties.


Duties And Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL:

  • Performs analysis of user requirements, concept of operations (CONOP) documents, and high-level system architectures to develop and guide system testing requirements.
  • Guide project system test development and implementation planning through preparation of project-specific test and evaluation master plans (TEMPs), test plans and procedures, and requirement verification traceability matrices (RVTMs).
  • Displays excellent technical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to take a holistic approach to system design.
  • Reviews progress and evaluates results of work accomplished by self and others.
  • Prepares reports and presents results to management and client.
  • Travel is expected up to 20% of the time to Oceaneering, vendor, and customer facilities.

ADDITIONAL:

  • Participation in and contribution to Test Engineering Departmental meetings.
  • Infrequent use of basic hand tools and setup of instrumentation.
  • Additional systems engineering duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering. Other relevant technical BS degrees considered. 10 or more years of practical experience in Systems or Test Engineering including the following:
  • Contributing to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation including TEMPs, test plans and procedures, test readiness reviews, and RVTMs.
  • Managing system test requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that meet system requirements.
  • Leading test events consisting of multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Candidate must be able to perform in an ISO-9000 company with a rapidly changing and demanding atmosphere.
  • US citizenship is required.
  • Existing or obtainable Secret security clearance.

PREFERRED:

  • Master's degree, INCOSE certification, or other professional training in systems engineering.
  • Existing or obtainable Top Secret security clearance with CI polygraph.
  • Experience with US DOD projects.
  • 3 or more years of subsea or marine vehicle experience.

REQUIRED:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and SharePoint.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and schematics for complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Broad understanding of electrical, mechanical, and software test methods.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.

PREFERRED:

  • Working knowledge of systems centered software such as Cradle, Cameo, SysML, DOORS, ModelCenter, or equivalent software. Emphasis on model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler or MagicDraw.
  • Strong working knowledge of metrology, statistics, design of experiments, and data acquisition and analysis.

Additional Information

This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.

We offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package. Annualized pay for this position : $127,500-$172,000.
