Description

BlueHalo, an AV Company, is hiring a Laboratory Manager to support the AFRL Space Electronics Technologies Lab. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of lab operations, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and supporting mission-critical research and development in a high-security environment. This role is essential to maintaining an efficient, organized, and secure laboratory in support of next-generation space electronics technologies.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Oversee daily lab operations to ensure smooth, efficient functioning in alignment with site policies and contract requirements



  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment, including optimal layout and equipment placement



  • Manage the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of lab equipment, and keep detailed inventory and service records



  • Schedule and document preventative maintenance activities, and train lab personnel on proper equipment usage



  • Track and manage inventory of chemicals, supplies, and consumables; order and receive materials; monitor stock levels and prevent shortages



  • Implement and maintain inventory control systems, ensuring proper storage and disposal of all materials



  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, NIH), develop and enforce lab safety protocols, and conduct routine safety inspections



  • Manage hazardous waste disposal and maintain all required safety documentation, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS)



  • Conduct safety training for lab personnel and respond to incidents or accidents as needed



  • Interface effectively with associate contractors, military personnel, and the Government customer




Required Qualifications:




  • Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance



  • Minimum of 5 years experience managing a laboratory environment with similar operational and safety requirements



  • Strong understanding of lab operations, safety standards, and equipment management



  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills



  • Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team including government and military stakeholders




Preferred Qualifications:




  • Experience working in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF)



  • Background in defense or aerospace laboratory environments
