Description

Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Trident's global operations produce finished wild Alaska seafood products in 6 countries and its sales teams serve customers in over 50 countries. Species harvested and processed by Trident include virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also includes cultured and wild species from a network of trusted sources worldwide.

Summary: The Corporate Social Responsibility Specialist will facilitate, maintain and demonstrate conformance to the Trident Code of Conduct, national and regional labor regulations, international labor standards, and other regulatory and non-regulatory requirements within the scope of common customer social audit standards in the department with Social Compliance and Utility Program.

Duties include coordinating internal and third-party social audits for Trident US shore-based and vessel facilities; collaborating in cross functional work with support departments; ensuring continuous improvement in working and living conditions; supporting administration of Trident energy, water, and waste management objectives; and staying abreast of constantly changing labor standards and customer expectations.

  • Engage corporate departments and manufacturing facility/vessel in Corporate Social Responsibilityand Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) initiatives
  • Conduct internal audits in Trident US facilities, document findings in risk management tool, partner with appropriate supporting departments at facilities and the support center to ensure accountability in addressing and closing gaps and non-compliances.
  • Partner with auditing firms, multiple Trident facility and Corporate teams, and vendors to ensure access for necessary personnel for internal and third-party audits.
  • Establish and oversee process for facility input to Corporate Social ResponsibilitySpecialistself-reports, pre and post audit work, monitor and coordinate social audits; review customer inquiries and develop methodologies to provide customized reporting where needed.
  • Collaborate with supporting departments to complete customer inquiries and requests.
  • Create and edit PowerPoint presentations, draft and proof customer communication and effective oral and written communication with all levels of the organization, and represent Corporate Social ResponsibilitySpecialist with internal and external audiences.
  • Maintain a database of social audit and due diligence documentation for access by relevant corporate parties.
  • Collect utility data in Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) and SAP.
  • Help assemble energy usage and impact data to report to key customers.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure alignment with broader Trident initiatives and financial planning.
  • Establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders to understand both current and anticipated needs.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements to drive innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for attracting, retaining, and developing a strong team with robust succession planning across the organization.

This is a an exempt position with an annualized salaryrange of $105,000 to $150,000.

Minimum Requirements

Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of sustainability, social compliance, responsible sourcing, or related experience.

Education:

  • A bachelor's degree in political science, supply chain, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and years of experience.

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of ethical business practices and corporate governance
  • Experience working cross-functionally with departments such as HR, Marketing, and Legal
  • Must be willing to travel domestically up to 25%
  • Self-starter with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize; have a sense of urgency
  • Comfortable with ambiguity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) frameworks and sustainability reporting standards
  • Experience with Corporate Social ResponsibilitySpecialistreporting tools (e.g., EcoVadis, CSRHub, or SAP Sustainability).
  • Experience working on international Corporate Social ResponsibilitySpecialistinitiatives or with global teams.
  • Ability to create and edit policies, analyze documents to identify alignment and gaps
  • Multilingual abilities, including Spanish, Japanese, and Mandarin

Work Environment

This is an on-site position based at the Trident Support Center office in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

In-office time takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting and moderate noise. While remote, employees must provide appropriate home office space.

Physical/Mental demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time at a desk. Frequently required to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee will occasionally stand, walk, and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near vision for frequent use of a computer.
