JOB SUMMARY
The Faculty Sourcing Specialist is responsible for proactively identifying, attracting, and engaging physician and faculty candidates for academic, clinical, and research positions across UTSW. This role focuses on building talent pipelines for high-priority and hard-to-fill positions by using targeted sourcing strategies and market intelligence. The Specialist partners with department chairs, recruiters, and faculty affairs to align talent identification efforts with institutional goals in education, clinical care, and innovation.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required



  • Education
    Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Healthcare Administration, or related field
  • Experience
    3 years of experience in talent sourcing, physician/faculty recruitment, or healthcare recruitment.


Preferred



  • Education
    Master's Degree especially in healthcare or talent acquisition-related fields.
  • Experience
    Experience working in or with an academic medical center, university, or healthcare organization
    Familiarity with academic and clinical faculty structures, credentialing processes, and visa types (e.g., J-1, H-1B) is a plus.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven success in proactive sourcing and engaging passive candidates.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with candidates and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, Doximity, PracticeLink, and applicant tracking systems (Workday, iCIMS, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism in dealing with faculty-level hires.


  • Travel Requirements
    Occasional travel to residency/fellowship programs, medical conferences, or academic networking events.

JOB DUTIES



  • Talent Sourcing & Pipeline Development
  • Use innovative sourcing techniques to identify qualified physician and academic faculty candidates through platforms such as PracticeLink, Doximity, LinkedIn, PubMed, professional associations, and residency/fellowship programs.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of passive and active candidates for current and future faculty vacancies.
  • Conduct initial outreach, cold calling, and candidate engagement to assess interest and alignment with institutional values and departmental needs.
  • Market Research & Strategy
  • Conduct market research to understand faculty labor market trends, competitor institutions, compensation benchmarks, and candidate availability.
  • Develop sourcing strategies tailored to specific disciplines or academic departments (e.g., Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, etc.)
  • Maintain a deep understanding of diversity hiring practices and contribute to inclusive sourcing efforts to advance institutional DEI goals.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with physician/faculty recruiters, department administrators, and HR leadership to prioritize sourcing needs and refine ideal candidate profiles.
  • Support faculty recruitment campaigns by contributing to branding content, job advertisements, and outreach messaging.
  • Provide regular updates and reporting on sourcing progress, talent pipeline status, and engagement metrics.
  • Database & Technology Use
  • Manage candidate data in applicant tracking systems (ATS) and customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and documentation of candidate interactions and compliance with institutional policies.
  • Leverage technology for talent mapping, email marketing, and candidate relationship nurturing.
