Job Summary

The Environmental Services Storekeeper role is essential to the successful operations of Environmental Services, supporting multiple locations across the UC Davis Health Campus and throughout the greater Sacramento Region. All Environmental Services locations, in order to provide safe and effective care, have supply and inventory needs that must be maintained. This position includes but is not limited inventory, purchasing, receiving, storing, and delivery of supplies to designated areas across UC Davis Health Environmental Services.
Environmental Services is a large, diverse environment with complex needs. Other essential responsibilities will include developing procedures for materials management and setting material quantity or levels for any/all locations. Position will have responsibility for managing Environmental Services supply storage and supply room space, and track movement of incoming and outgoing products.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Forklift Certificate.
  • Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Skills to organize and prioritize workload to complete work effectively.
  • Verbal and written communication skills to read, write and follow oral and written instructions in English
  • Ability and knowledge to gather and analyze financial and other resource data.
  • Ability to prepare reports or analyses of operational activities, evaluates current and proposed services, etc.
  • Able to function as a resource on issues such as researching complex operational metrics regarding supplies and supply usage.
  • Experience providing analytical, administrative, and project management support to a high-level administrator, such as an Executive of a large, complex organization.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to work with complex information, determine impact, identify risks, evaluate approaches; and develop solutions within the context of priorities, time constraints, and available resources.
  • Knowledge to assess and recommend changes to maintain compliance with federal and state requirements and internal policies.
  • Political acumen and collegial communication skills to interact with persons at all levels of the hierarchy with varying backgrounds, levels of expertise, interest, and personal investment.
  • Experience using a range of organizational and time management skills to coordinate and prioritize a diverse, complex workload and to meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
  • Writing, editing and proofreading skills to produce clear, well-organized information with strict attention to correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.

The Environmental Services (EVS) Department is responsible for all aspects of housekeeping functions/services in all UCDH owned and leased facilities.

Work Environment

UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014. Smoking, the use of smokeless tobacco products, and the use of unregulated nicotine products (e-cigarettes) will be strictly prohibited on any UC Davis owned or leased property, indoors and outdoors, including parking lots and residential space.

Incumbent must be willing and able to work variable shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and float to other units/areas/buildings.
