The Business Technical Analyst I assists the data- and technology-driven efforts of the Office of Financial Aid's Technology Team, providing key maintenance and support functions for the continual improvement and critical system and process efficiencies and solutions. |
Minimum Education and Experience |
BA/BS degree in related field and two (2) years of related experience; AA/AS degree in related field with four (4) years related experience; High school diploma with six (6) years related experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. |

Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
- Maintain the University's scholarship management system, including gathering and analyzing data, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify technical and functional requirements, and conducting thorough system testing and validation.
- Develop and enhance financial aid technology solutions within and in conjunction with University-wide enterprise student information systems such as PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Financial Aid module, NextGen Scholarship Manager, and other software platforms.
- Provide technical and operational support for various processes, including queries, business process and needs analysis, identifying and gathering system requirements, data loads, and data analysis and reporting.
- Perform various data functions including maintaining and developing data extracts, formatting and transforming data loads, reporting and resolving errors and exceptions, preparing data for reports, and communicating with campus partners.
- May develop cross-platform solutions involving student financial aid data.
- Ensure a seamless and positive user experience through effective problem-solving, continuous system and process improvements, and cross-functional coordination.

The successful candidate must be eligible to administer Title IV student aid.

- Strong data analysis, interpretation, and reporting skills
- Written and verbal communication skills, active listening skills, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and functional users
- Ability to identify and solve problems proactively, and to implement effective solutions
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment, to take direction, and to follow instructions
Remote Work Notice
Following successful completion of an initial training period, a
hybrid work schedule may be available, subject to business needs and departmental approval.
Employee must be located within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area and have the ability to be on campus for work activities as scheduled and/or with 24-hour notice. Completion and approval of a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required, and use of personal computer, internet, and other standard equipment may be required. Remote work arrangements are subject to regular review and re-approval and may be cancelled.
