POSITION SUMMARY

The Electronic Payments Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Electronic Payments team to ensure efficient, secure, and compliant handling of all ACH and wire transactions while supporting the bank's operational excellence and North Star service expectations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and direct the staff to perform the daily Wire and ACH functions. Must also be able to perform the daily essential function of each team member including but not limited to:
  • ACH:
    • Configure client setups within Horizon core and ACH processing platforms.
    • Generate and reconcile ACH monthly billing.
    • Monitor and assess ACH file activity against client limits; communicate proactively with Team Leaders, Client Experience Officers, and Digital Solutions when cash management thresholds are exceeded.
    • Resolve file transmission or formatting issues by collaborating with FIS and Digital Solutions.
    • Investigate and process ACH client disputes in alignment with Reg E guidelines.
    • Initiate and maintain bank external ACH transfers.
    • Correct and update Pre-Note/NOC notifications as required.
    • Identify and process ACH return entries arising from exception handling.
    • Review all DNE for ACH and return transactions when appropriate.
    • Process monthly IOLTA remittances to state bar associations in compliance with regulatory guidelines and reporting deadlines.
  • Wires:
    • Process and verify incoming and outgoing domestic and international wires received across multiple communication channels.
    • Execute draw down requests and federal tax-related wire transactions accurately and on time.
    • Conduct OFAC screenings and perform comprehensive fraud reviews.
    • Maintain and adjust Federal Reserve account balances to support transaction activity.
    • Perform wire callbacks in accordance with client contracts and bank policy.
    • Initiate and track wire traces or inquiries to ensure resolution and client satisfaction.
    • Reconcile end-of-day transactions to ensure balanced and error-free processing.
    • Configure client-specific billing and notification setups in eWire for special handling requirements.
  • Demonstrate proactive leadership through goal setting, team development, performance coaching, and fostering our Southern First culture.
  • Communicate with respective vendors to resolve issues impacting the systems utilized by the Electronic Payments area.
  • Respond to and resolve inquiries concerning client activity and/or electronic payment functions.
  • Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation reviews related to Electronic Payments, ensuring timely resolution of aging items and adherence to operational standards.
  • Assemble and complete documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining all departmental policy and procedures relevant to ACH and Wires.
  • Assist with projects assigned by the Director of Client Support.
  • Support additional departmental initiatives and responsibilities as needed to advance operational excellence.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES OR DETAILS

  • NACHA certification as an Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) will be required as part of professional development.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience in financial services or operations environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple processes/problems as they arise in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple departments as well as internally with the Deposit Operations team.
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvement.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Possess strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.


WORK CONDITIONS

  • The working conditions are almost exclusively inside with limited travel.
