Overview:

The Sentara CDI Team is expanding! This summer we will implement Aware CDI by Iodine. We are seeking to expand our team with a CDI Supervisor, preferably with 3 years+ CDI experience. Iodine experience is a plus!

Supervises and works collaboratively to ensure clinical information in the medical record is present and accurate to support that appropriate clinical severity is captured for the level of service rendered to all patients. Assist in identifying educational opportunities at all levels through results of audits, periodic chart reviews and ongoing updates from CMS and other payers. Trend data and produce reports monthly or as needed in collaboration with the CDI Auditor.

Recent CDS experience required. Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) certification or Certified Document Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) certification required. Knowledge of MS-DRGs and ICD-10 preferred.

  • RN BSN 4 year Degree Name of Degree (Required)
Certification/Licensure
  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or
  • Certified Document Improvement Practitioner (CDIP)
  • Certifications must be obtained within the first six months of hire

Experience

  • 3 years (or more) or CDI experience required
  • Previous leadership a plus
  • Knowledge of MS-DRGs and ICD-10 preferred
  • MS Office experience
  • Effective communication skills
