Position Overview

REDLattice is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Distributed Application Researcher to independently conduct vulnerability research and software architecture analysis. In this role, you'll identify flaws in complex software systems and distributed architectures, develop proof-of-concept code to demonstrate impact, and contribute to the development of advanced solutions in support of national defense missions.

This position requires strong technical depth, attention to detail in documentation, and the ability to self-direct in a research-heavy environment. You'll be expected to reverse engineer binaries, analyze inter-component protocols, and work with a variety of low-level debugging and analysis tools.

Key Responsibilities




  • Independently research and identify vulnerabilities in software and software architecture designs



  • Analyze Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) architectures and distributed systems



  • Conduct protocol analysis between disparate components and systems



  • Perform dynamic and static binary analysis, fuzzing, and source code auditing



  • Develop proof-of-concept exploits and tooling in C, Python, and Assembly



  • Utilize advanced debugging tools such as WinDBG, GDB, ADB, and BDI



  • Document research findings with precision and clarity



  • Collaborate with internal researchers and developers to share insights and integrate solutions




Required Qualifications




  • Deep understanding of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and distributed architectures



  • Strong knowledge of OS internals (Windows, Linux, or other major operating systems)



  • Proficient in reading and writing assembly (x86/x64, ARM, MIPS, etc.)



  • Extensive experience with modern debuggers and analysis frameworks (WinDBG, GDB, ADB, BDI)



  • Skilled in binary analysis, fuzzing techniques, and source code review



  • Advanced development experience in C, Python, and Assembly



  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive research projects from start to finish



  • Strong motivation to learn and explore complex systems



  • Collaborative mindset and experience working in team-based environments




Security Clearance Requirement:



  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph
