Join us in your new role as Social Media Strategist. In this role you will enhance the TDS brand persona by planning and executing social media campaigns that boost engagement and inspire action. The right candidate will be recognized as a thought leader with a unique brand voice. You will build meaningful connections with target audiences and leverage data for strategic decisions. Some key responsibilities of this role will include leading a cross-functional team, developing and implementing TDS' social strategy, managing social intelligence, platform strategies, content strategies, and social governance. You will also create long-term plans supporting company objectives, develop campaign strategies with performance metrics, and manage both external and internal social media communications.

Additionally, you will build relationships with social media platform representatives, key vendors, and agencies, serving as a social media expert for internal stakeholders, and mentoring and developing direct reports.

This position has the ability to work remotely in any of the 40+ States in which TDS Telecom operates.



Responsibilities

Build comprehensive and innovative social media strategies.

    Implement and oversee a multi-year strategic plan to maximize brand awareness.
  • Lead the development and execution of social media campaigns across all platforms.
  • Create and manage campaign plans and editorial calendars, analyze performance, and present insights to executives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align strategies, develop an analytics framework, and ensure consistent messaging and compliance with social media policies.
  • Utilize social data to inform decisions, strategies, and process improvements.

Partner with various departments to develop and communicate monthly social media content packages that align with the company's vision and support cross-channel campaigns.

  • Implement and lead social engagement programs to foster positive interactions, user-generated content, and testimonials.
  • Identify opportunities to surprise and delight customers and create agile content in response to real-time trends.
  • Develop and implement decision-making frameworks that integrate business and marketing strategies across all social media platforms.
  • Ensure a favorable customer experience by maintaining appropriate tone, sentiment, and accurate messaging in external-facing content.

Develop strategies, guidance, and policy compliance measures on new and existing platforms when establishing a social presence or enhancing with utilization of new features.

  • Develop strategies for new social media platforms and features.
  • Monitor and analyze platforms to identify challenges and develop effective strategies.
  • Report social media complaint trends and escalations to senior leadership.
  • Lead and collaborate with third-party vendors, review vendor efficiency, and initiate RFPs.
  • Assist in managing governance policies and ensure adherence to social media rules.
  • Implement yearly social policy training; collaborate on policy development.
  • Develop and implement social media compliance and security programs to meet SOX compliance.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or 4+ years professional work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing social media marketing campaigns and related platforms.

Other Qualifications

  • Preferred degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Public Relations.
  • Preferred hands-on knowledge of Salesforce.
  • Experience leading/managing CX/UX strategies, digital marketing, communication/content strategies, and digital analytics.
  • Advanced strategic planning and project management skills in marketing, advertising, or corporate communications.
  • Proven thought leadership, initiative, decision-making, and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced presentation skills for findings, research, analysis, and information.
  • Significant experience leading complex, high-impact cross-functional teams and projects.
  • Proven leadership, guidance, and mentoring skills.
  • Expert verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of media operations, specialized publications, and editorial practices.
