Description

This is a full time, benefited position generally working regular business hours Monday-Friday with rotating on call requirements. Hours will vary based on department needs. You will split your time between Scripps Clinic Liberty Station and Mission Valley. This is an exempt and salaried position eligible for the Management Incentive Compensation Plan (MICP) at the Supervisor level.

What you'll do:



  • Will generally spend 1-2 days per week at Mission Valley Dermatology and the rest of the week at Liberty Station for site management.
  • Must be willing to adapt to changes in scheduling and adjust hours as needed to meet the needs of the team and site.
  • Ability to adapt to dynamic situations and changing needs.
  • Manages daily staffing for assigned clinic operations.
  • Ensures nursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety.
  • Ensures the safe transition of patients thru the continuum of care to include active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, and direct hand-off to next appropriate level of care.
  • Under the general direction of the Manager/Director, shares leadership responsibilities for the Medical Assistant staff, including managing daily staffing plans.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining schedules for optimal efficiency.
  • Works in partnership with Management and Physicians to ensure quality and efficiency in the management of patient care.
  • Management and development of clinical staff.
  • Contributes to operations management of assigned business unit(s).
  • Participates in budget planning and management.
  • Takes proactive initiative in quality management.
  • Will fill in as needed for clinical and clerical staff.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:



  • Certified MA plus two years applicable clinical experience.
  • Requires excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through.
  • Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care.


Required Certification/Registration:



  • Completion of a formal Medical Assistant program or Military Corpsman program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions.
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.


Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:



  • Leadership experience.
  • Dermatology experience.
  • Understanding of Lean methodology.
