What We DoResponsible for managing foreclosure and bankruptcy activities. Monitors and completes all activities related to foreclosure and bankruptcy actions in accordance with statutory compliance, regulatory compliance and company guidelines. Manages foreclosure and bankruptcy timelines and workflow processes on files in which a foreclosure action has been initiated or bankruptcy filed. Manages processes in accordance with established work rules, goals and objectives to improve timeline and attorney performance.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for servicing mortgage accounts to ensure the foreclosure and bankruptcy are processed in compliance with all state and federal laws, while maintaining compliance with Investor, Insurer, Agency, and company guidelines.
- Conducts complete reviews of bankruptcy files to ensure all default timeframes have been met.
- Manages bankruptcy proceedings on assigned cases by interacting and instructing various parties such as mortgagors, attorneys, investors, insurers, trustees, appraisers, and any other party involved with the bankruptcy.
- Monitors attorney performance by reviewing all proceedings, records and timeframes in addition to working all system/database activities throughout the bankruptcy process.
- Follows up on all outstanding requests and telephone calls from internal and external partners.
- Accesses bankruptcy trustee websites to determine the status on payments to trustee.
- Audits all bankruptcy accounts for payment compliance and ensures proper application to system of record.
- Performs required research on any loan with questionable items such as the application of payments, proper bankruptcy notification, and any other situation that may arise.
- Actively reviews and pursues all loss mitigation alternatives in all appropriate customer circumstances and forward any potential customers to the appropriate Loss Mitigation Department for consideration.
- Reports all litigated and class action suits to management.
- Ensures all eligible delinquent loans are breached by the required milestone(s).
- Manages foreclosure proceedings on assigned cases by advising and instructing various parties involved with the foreclosure process such as mortgagors, attorneys, investors, insurers, trustees, and appraisers.
- Performs detailed analysis on all aspects of the assigned portfolio including performance, timelines, overall characteristics, and status to ensure compliance of the foreclosure action.
- Provides management with detailed loss analysis, investor scenarios, and recommendations for resolution.
- Manages reports geared to drive workflow.
- Manages exception reporting used as key controls for minimizing risk.

Typical Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Typical Range of Experience
- 4-7 years of directly related experience such as Mortgage Foreclosure, Mortgage Servicing, Bankruptcy, legal and/or financial
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite preferred
- Experience with Black Knight MSP preferred
