Position Description:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Inpatient Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our multidisciplinary Birth Center team. This position plays a vital role in supporting our obstetricians and interdisciplinary staff by managing antepartum and postpartum inpatients, contributing to timely clinical care delivery, and promoting optimal patient outcomes within an academic teaching hospital environment. Location: Froedtert Hospital Supervising / Collaborating Physician: Medical Director & APP Manager Workweek: Scheduling flexibility required to provide for an appropriate level of patient care coverage. May require evening or weekend hours in the future based on business needs. Monday- Friday, 7:00a-5:00p Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive clinical management and evaluation of antepartum and postpartum inpatients in collaboration with attending obstetricians and maternal-fetal medicine specialists.
- Assist with triage evaluations, labor and delivery management, and emergent obstetric care as part of a team approach.
- Support physician providers by managing routine, non-surgical obstetric care tasks to enhance clinical efficiency.
- Facilitate timely patient discharges and reduce care delays through proactive coordination.
- Ensure adherence to evidence-based obstetric protocols and evolving standards of care consistent with MCW's academic and clinical mission.
- Respond promptly to patient care concerns, enhancing safety and quality outcomes.
- Participate actively in quality improvement projects, interdisciplinary rounds, and educational activities.
- Contribute to efforts addressing provider workload, fatigue, and burnout to foster a sustainable clinical environment
- Perform newborn circumcision and other minor procedures as needed
- Perform other duties as needed as part of the team in the Birth Center

Qualifications:
- Licensed Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) with certification and clinical experience in obstetrics, maternal-fetal medicine, or related fields preferred.
- Active licensure in the state of Wisconsin.
- Strong clinical acumen with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity academic hospital setting.
- Commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, patient-centered care, and continuous learning.
- Demonstrated ability to engage in quality improvement and academic initiatives is highly desirable.
