The Reading Room Navigator team is primarily responsible for minimizing interruptions and improving workflow to allow Radiologists to focus on their primary clinical functions. These tasks include handling outgoing communications (such as notification of clinicians for critical, urgent, and unexpected findings) and incoming communications (such as phone call requests from referring physicians for preliminary findings and verbal consults). Further, the team monitors the timely signing of reports, assists in monitoring turnaround times, and assists in QA, and timely protocoling. Finally, this team partners with Imaging Informatics to ensure an effective IT infrastructure, including prompt reporting of application and network issues to IT and follow-through until issues are resolved. The manager acts under the direction of the Department Administrator and is responsible for performing data abstraction amp; submission and real time quality assurance monitoring related to compliance of department and OSUWMC policies and procedures. The manager provides support functions related to data preparation and quality assurance for clinical faculty and staff in the department. The manager identifies and resolves operational concerns amp; ensures appropriate actions are taken to meet departmental goals, guidelines amp; deadlines and participates in developing clinical-related policies and disseminating to clinical support staff. Additionally, the manager is required to independently communicate to Radiology faculty and staff and referring teams to facilitate timely, safe, and efficient patient care. This position requires an individual who is detail oriented, flexible, possesses excellent organizational skills, is professional and courteous in both written and verbal form, has excellent customer relation skills and has the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Individual in this position regularly interacts with front line staff, management and leadership. Experience in highly regulated field preferred. Use of computers (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience working in scheduling systems and electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Self-drive, dependable, organized and task oriented with great attention to detail. Ability to work well both independently and in team setting. |
