AsSenior Director of Finance for the Emerging Businesses Group, you will report to and serve as a strategic partner to the Vice President, Finance and Chief Accounting Officer. In addition, you will also partner with the Senior Vice President of the Emerging Businesses Group, and operational leaders across multiple lines of business to support them running their businesses and executing their strategic growth plans. You will lead the finance function for a diverse portfolio, driving business performance through insightful analytics and robust financial leadership. This role is pivotal in ensuring financial strategy is tightly aligned with operational execution, empowering leadership to make data-driven decisions that maximize both short- and long-term value creation. You will manage and support finance across various business units, each with unique systems, processes, and reporting requirements. Success in this role requires agility, analytical rigor, and the ability to synthesize information from disparate sources. You will lead a team of Finance Directors and Finance Managers, champion a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, and act as a key liaison between the Emerging Businesses Group finance/accounting team, group leadership, and the broader CMC leadership team.

What You'll Do
  • Provide actionable business intelligence through advanced financial modeling, business case analysis, and management reporting for multiple business lines
  • Deliver robust analytics linking financial results to key operational drivers, enabling leadership to optimize performance across diverse business units
  • Evaluate financial implications of business decisions and opportunities; advise management to ensure achievement of targeted financial outcomes
  • Develop and communicate business recommendations to support strategic initiatives and drive growth, adapting recommendations to the unique needs of each business line
  • Analyze and interpret data from multiple systems to provide a holistic view of group performance and identify cross-business opportunities
  • Lead annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for all lines of business within the Emerging Businesses Group, ensuring alignment with CMC Corporate objectives
  • Oversee capital planning programs, directing investments to projects with the highest returns for the group and company
  • Conduct in-depth variance analysis and provide competitive analytics to anticipate market changes and inform decision-making
  • Translate strategic and operational plans into clear, actionable communications for Emerging Businesses Group leadership and Corporate leadership (including Board-level presentations as needed)
  • Adapt planning processes to accommodate the unique requirements and systems of each business unit
  • Ensure all financial practices comply with CMC Policies and regulatory requirements across all lines of business ensuring a strong control environment is in place
  • Assist with the integration of acquired companies and support due diligence activities as required
  • Compile, analyze, and report financial data in accordance with established standards, leveraging data from multiple systems and sources
  • Lead and develop a team of Finance Directors and Finance Managers, fostering a high-performing, results-driven culture
  • Serve as a dynamic leader within the business, providing mentorship, guidance, and decision support to cross-functional teams
  • Participate in entity-wide projects and initiatives, representing the finance function as a trusted business partner
  • Promote agility and adaptability within the team to navigate complex, multi-system environments
  • Collaborate with other finance leaders to maintain a robust system of internal controls, including data integrity, asset protection, budgeting, and financial reporting
  • Uphold the highest standards of business conduct, ethics, and legal compliance
  • Maintain independence and objectivity in assessing the business control environment across all lines of business
What You'll Need
  • 15+ years of progressive finance experience in manufacturing or a similar industry, with exposure to multiple business units or product lines
  • Experience managing finance across diverse systems and processes, with the ability to analyze and synthesize data from multiple sources
  • SAP or SAP BPC experience strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of influencing operations and driving business results in a complex, matrixed organization
Your Education
  • Bachelors Degree required
