Overview

The Program Finance Analyst (Financial Analyst) performs Financial Management and Program Control functions associated with VIRGINIA Construction Contracts managed by the Program Finance Department, D626. The Program Finance team serves as a critical business partner by providing analysis, insight, and guidance to enable strategic program decisions and achieving bottom-line results.

One position located at the Groton Shipyard Facility.

Job Responsibilities:

    Performance measurement and variance analysis
  • Bi-weekly construction progressing
  • Budget Change Request reconciliation
  • Billable excess review
  • Estimate at Complete review
  • Create and update daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
  • Manpower Plan and Operating Plan development
  • Shop order control
  • Preparation of billing instructions for submittal to Cash Management
  • Input to Finance Systems for Indicated Profit, Sales Orders and Backlog
  • Financial Analysis


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Mathematics, Economics, or Statistics/Analysis.

Preferred:

  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Earned Value Management experience
  • Experience in Government contract cost control
  • Prior Electric Boat internship
  • Knowledge of EB Systems (Mainframe, MRPII, Purchasing and Inventory, Oracle)
  • Experience reporting and analyzing financial data


Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas) and PowerPoint.
  • Candidate must be interested in and capable of analyzing data with minimal supervision.
  • Possess a considerable amount of initiative and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively communicate with all levels of Management.
  • Ability to meet critical reporting deadlines.
