Hiring Range: $22.25 - $28.63 hourly
Full Range: $22.25 - $36.00 hourly

Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

About the Position

The Voter Center Lead supervises the preparation, packaging, and delivery of election equipment and materials for Vote Centers and oversees the delivery of technical support services for the set-up of in-person voting equipment for the Maricopa County Elections Department. This position will assist with training and supervising temporary staff in performing maintenance of the ballot-on-demand equipment in preparation for upcoming elections and during election cycles.

We Require

  • Three (3) years of administrative experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or experience listed above may substitute for the minimum requirements on a year-for-year basis

Other Requirements

  • Must complete the next scheduled Secretary of State Election Officer Certification
  • Must successfully complete a background screening
  • Must be eligible to vote in Arizona
  • Must possess, or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire, a valid Arizona Driver's License
  • Mandatory overtime during all election cycles

Job Contributions

  • Provides training and supervises full-time staff on daily assignments supporting the preparation of ballot-on-demand printers
  • Serves as backup to the Vote Center Manager as Command Center Lead
  • Provides training and supervises temporary staff during large election cycles to support the preparation of voting materials and technology for packaging and delivery
  • Assists IT staff with the preparation and maintenance of ballot-on-demand systems
  • Assists Vote Center Manager in revising and developing training materials for the ballot-on-demand system and maintains processes and procedures related to early voting to be in compliance with state statutes and federal laws
  • Oversees the Vote Center Courier Program, ensuring consumable products are replenished and sensitive materials are returned to the Elections Department securely and in accordance with statutory and administrative requirements
  • Administers quality control for ballot uploads on the ballot-on-demand printers
  • Assists Vote Center Manager in reviewing issues that occur during the election and assists in developing a plan to minimize the occurrence of such issues in future elections
  • Oversees Vote Center Technicians in the setup of election supplies; conducts a post-election supply audit and recommends quantities of supplies to be reordered
  • Assists warehouse staff with breaking down equipment and returning supplies from Vote Centers

Working Conditions

  • May be required to exert up to 25-50 pounds and carry for 100 feet
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, and stoop or bend
  • Work may occur in an Office, in the Field, or in a Warehouse environment
  • May be exposed to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and other related conditions and situations
  • May be subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, and any related conditions
  • Utilizing a personal or county vehicle to travel within Maricopa County
  • Must not engage in any political discussion
