Position Overview

Are you passionate about shaping the future of communities through innovative infrastructure and site design? C&S Companies is seeking a motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Civil & Infrastructure Design Engineer. As a key member of our civil & infrastructure engineering department, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of exciting projects that enhance the quality of life for people in our communities.

Position Responsibilities



  • Infrastructure Design: Collaborate with a team of experienced engineers to assist in the design and development of civil infrastructure projects, including stormwater management systems and utilities.
  • CAD Drafting: Utilize industry-standard Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to prepare detailed engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct site investigations and analyze data to support the engineering design process. Interpret survey reports, environmental impact assessments, and geotechnical investigations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure project designs comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations. Work closely with regulatory authorities to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  • Public Involvement: Participate in public meetings and engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and address concerns related to highway design projects.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, surveyors, and project managers, to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Utilize safe work practices in accordance with federal, state, local, and company standards.
  • Communicate incidents, accidents, near misses, potential hazards, and unsafe working conditions to a supervisor of the Health and Safety Department as soon as identified.


Skills/Education/Experience



  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Resource Engineering, or a related field
  • EIT/FE is a plus, with intent to pursue and obtain a PE license
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in civil and infrastructure design with strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices
  • Familiarity and experience in utilizing engineering software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant engineering software is a must.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.


Estimated Compensation Range: $90,000 - $100,000/year*

*Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
