The PA Department of Health has a current vacancy for a Clerical Assistant 2 in the Bureau of Community Health Systems. This position supports the organizations mission of providing infrastructure for the implementation of core public health functions in a high quality, effective, and responsive manner that will positively impact the health status of Pennsylvanians by fielding customer calls and providing clerical support to the District Office and the State Health Centers.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerical Assistant 2 in this position, you will answer, log, and refer calls using BCHS and DOH policies and procedures, as well as knowledge of agency, local government, community, and commonwealth programs to provide information and referral on DOH programs to the general public. This position will also provide clerical support to professional staff, maintain and distribute State Health Center communications, submit case reports, and maintain information in the Statewide Immunization Information System database using DOH guidelines. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday thru Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting salary of $36,108 (before taxes). -

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation.
