DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Your role as a Custodial Worker will be vital in ensuring the cleanliness of the facility. You will be responsible for following specific instructions from your manager or supervisor to ensure efficient and thorough cleaning. Your duties will include performing tasks such as mopping, dusting, operating manual and mechanical equipment, and replenishing supplies. You will also be required to handle heavier tasks such as moving and lifting furniture and equipment to maintain an organized environment. Your contribution as a Custodial Worker will be crucial in maintaining a safe and welcoming space for all.

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are available on the following shifts; rotating on and off duty days, including weekends and holidays; with a 30-minute lunch. Work hours may change based on operational needs.
- 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Overtime as operationally necessary
- FREE parking!
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Additional Requirement:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Willing and able to work in Franklin County, PA.
- Work experience as a custodian, janitor, housekeeping, or cleaning person in an assisted living facility, nursing home, hospital, correctional facility, fast food, or restaurant or cafeteria is preferred. (Experience might include such things as cleaning restrooms; cleaning resident rooms, offices, or public areas; mopping, scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, and buffing)
- Work experience cleaning bodily fluids and disposing infectious waste into proper storage areas.
- Work experience removing snow, trash, and debris from sidewalks and entrance ways.
- Work experience using and mixing chemicals or solvents.
- Work experience using manual or power equipment to mop, scrub, sweep, strip, wax, and buff floors.
- Work experience in the following:
- Operating floor scrubbing machine
- Use of ladders to clean high areas
- Proper handling of cleaning chemicals
- Interacting with patients/residents
- Snow removal from walkways and entrances
- Changing light bulbs
- Cleaning furniture
- Mopping (wet or dry mop)
- Scrubbing
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
