Position Overview

The Principal HR Policy and Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, auditing, and ensuring adherence with HR policies and procedures that have broad impact across the company. This role designs, maintains, and monitors HR policies and procedures that are in line with business objectives, compliant, and operationally effective.

This position is based in Madison, WI with a hybrid schedule of four days on-site each week.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop and draft HR policies and procedures that support the company in achieving its strategic objectives, compliance, risk management, and an excellent employee experience.
  • Stay current with and incorporating best HR practices and internal data into policies and procedures.
  • Operationalize HR policies and procedures in an efficient, technology-driven, intuitive, and auditable manner.
  • Harmonize HR policies and procedures globally when possible, creating location-specific policies and procedures where needed.
  • Audit HR policies and procedures to ensure employee and company adherence. Implement appropriate individual and organizational corrective action to address any gaps.
  • Update HR policies and procedures when needed to respond to changes in law or company needs.
  • Partner closely and collaboratively with senior leaders throughout HR and the business to understand and respond to business needs and to solve unique and complex needs through consistent HR policies and procedures.
  • Create training and communications to ensure HR policies and procedures are understood and followed.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other field relevant to the essential duties, or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a relevant degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in Human Resources.
  • 2+ years of experience developing, implementing, auditing, and ensuring adherence with global HR policies and procedures.
  • Clear, accurate, and concise communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years in a role focused on compliance with employment and/or benefits law.
  • Experience with Workday, ServiceNow, AI, and other technology to operationalize HR policies and procedures.

Salary Range:

$133,000.00 - $226,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to be considered for company stock at hire and on an annual basis.
