The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel is hiring motivated, dependable, and team-orientated individuals for jobs that advance UGA's mission of Public Service and Outreach. The Georgia Center, located on campus across from Stegeman Coliseum, is the campus hub for the development and administration of non-credit professional and continuing education courses as well as home of the only on-campus hotel.

This position provides Georgia Center guests with excellent customer service while completing all guest transactions accurately and efficiently. The Front Desk Clerk - Part-time provides a professional and friendly demeanor to all visitors of the Georgia Center.

Duties/Responsibilities
Complete all procedures and tasks related to hotel guest reservations and check-in and check-out with accuracy, efficiency, and excellent customer service

  • Confirm guest reservations and update guest records if needed
  • Check guests in and program key cards
  • Print parking passes and post accurate charges
  • Post charges and payments to guest folios and check guests out
  • Greet guests when they enter the Hospitality Zone
  • Answer multi-line phone within three rings

Complete advanced tasks with accuracy and efficiency

  • Create room reservations that meet guest needs within available inventory
  • Implement daily selling strategies
  • Handle and solve guest issues
  • Contact maintenance about room issues and enter work orders
  • Handle room moves and advanced billing transactions

Assist with training part-time front desk staff

  • Utilize training checklist to train new staff
  • Provide feedback to Front Desk Supervisor about trainees

  • Review Shift Reports and Daily Standup Report within first 15 minutes of shift.
  • Complete shift checklist fully during shift
  • Review checklist with Supervisor prior to end of shift
  • Stock supplies and maintain a clean and organized front desk area

Participate in training sessions, departmental meetings, and other duties as assigned

  • Participate in all training sessions and departmental meetings.
  • Assist hotel team members as needed to meet hotel division goals.
  • Assist the Concierge department when a representative is not available.
