Overview:
We're looking for a roll-up-your-sleeves financial leader who's not afraid to dive into the details and drive meaningful impact. As Controller for Advisors Excel and its related entities, you'll lead by example-shaping a high-performing team, owning core accounting operations, and helping steer the financial strategy of a growing, fast-paced organization. You'll be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial data and delivering insights that drive informed decision-making. What you'll do:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Financial Reporting team
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Oversee cash flow and financial risk
- Support external audits and maintain internal controls
- Consolidate financials across multiple entities
- Build and manage budgets and forecast
- Provide financial analysis and insights to leadership
- Drive process improvements and support ERP/system initiatives
- Mentor, coach, and develop team members
- Partner across departments to support broader business goals
Experience you'll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Deep understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Proficiency in accounting systems and financial software
- Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information
Bonus Points:
- CPA or CMA designation
- Experience in the financial services industry
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite
- Background in system implementations or integrations
