POSITION OVERVIEW:
Lead and manage the Communications function, including media relations, issues/crisis management, employee communications, and philanthropic/community relations.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Lead, recruit and develop an organization of communication professionals providing a healthy culture, growth and development.

2. Plan, direct and control the company's communication programs using a variety of channels.
3. Develop innovative and cost-effective strategic policies and programs that are aligned with company objectives and add value to the business.
4. Provide leadership to facilitate the execution of FedEx Freight strategic plans
5. Lead brand and brand management in accordance with all outstanding agreements with Federal Express Corporation.

6. Respond to external market communications impacting the business
7. Oversee crisis communication programs and reactive media relations
8. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
9. Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration or equivalent work experience plus ten (10) years' experience in Corporate Communications
* Demonstrated successful management experience required
* Excellent leadership, human relations, communications and problem-solving skills
* Proven experience implementing creative and effective communication strategies
* Exceptional knowledge and understanding of broad business strategy, communications technology and applications
* Experience and ability to use Microsoft office software, including but not limited to: Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Ability to work independently and as a team member
