Description Responsible for obtaining verification of eligibility, insurance benefits, and ensuring precertification/prior authorization and referral requirements are met prior to treatment and maintaining that information to reflect the most up to date coverage. 1. Accurate verification of insurance eligibility/benefits, and entry of new or updated information for all patient accounts. 2. Enter new patient demographics and maintain established patient profiles. 3. Review upcoming appointments 4. Obtains insurance authorizations and pre-certifications and appeal when necessary 5. Verifies insurance coverage and collects deposits when applicable 6. Daily overflow calls and back up for front desk as needed 7. Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information. 8. Other duties as assigned by the office manager Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience: Minimum 2 years in physician's office performing insurance verification duties Understanding of insurance payers, benefits and authorizations Previous experience with billing and collections, helpful. Simple mathematical abilities. Previous computer skills on EHR Software and windows applications. Basic Medical Terminology On-site M-F 8am-5pm Cubicle work space Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
