Education and Work Experience:



  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Work/Professional Experience: 2-3 years' experience in Customer Service and social media
  • Experience working with adolescents is a plus


License and Certifications:



  • Current CPR/First Aid, both infant/child and adult (within 6 months)
  • Valid Idaho Driver's License


Scope of Position: This position is to aid the Booth Program Director by providing students with direct services (Incentive Store, snacks, Weekend Supplemental Breakfast program, and childcare), create and coordinate outreach activities, assist with life skills and parenting classes, and build rapport between The Booth Program and Cardinal Academy Charter School Staff/Students. Collect data for reporting. Create and maintain all promotional materials for The Booth Program for education and promotional purposes to potential students, community partners, granters, foundations. and donors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Knowledge Required: use a computer effectively and efficiently in the working environment; use standard office machines (e.g., copier, multi-line phone, keyboard); use standard office practices and procedures; read, write, and speak the English language to express ideas and communicate effectively. Many of our students have current and/or previous trauma in their lives. Having a knowledge of how trauma impacts youth is beneficial.

Skills Required: use Microsoft software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Teams), Canva and Adobe to correctly create basic documents (Brochures, flyers, notes, memos, emails) and reports; use various types of social media platforms.

Abilities Required: interact with individuals using generally accepted business and professional behaviors and standards; use interpersonal skills to deal effectively with others in favorable and unfavorable situations; respond appropriately to emergency situations; organize, prioritize, and plan own work; multitask (i.e., change work focus to respond to change of conditions and interruptions in work flow); learn new systems and procedures; problem solve (i.e., the ability to identify problems and find effective solutions).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  1. Assist Booth Program Director with:
  2. Correspondence regarding the Booth Program with Students, Cardinal Academy Staff, New Horizon Academy, Volunteers, The Boise Corps Staff and Advisory Board when necessary.
  3. Coordinating, leading, or assisting with Pregnancy, Parenting, and Life Skills Classes.
  4. Collect and/or record data needed for Salvation Army reporting (Wellsky).
  5. Outreach events that may or may not require travel.
  6. Other tasks or duties as assigned.
  7. Assist Booth Program Students with direct services as needed (School Days)
  8. Snacks: Plan, shop for, and prepare snacks for students on school days. Account for snacks and record data in Wellsky.
  9. Meals: Work with Kitchen Manager to retrieve weekly menus and accurate accounting of meals. Record data in Wellsky.
  10. Incentive Store: Work with Cardinal teachers to get accurate numbers for Booth Bucks. Work with interns to organize and distribute Booth Bucks. Work with store volunteers to accurately record items purchased in store and track that data in Wellsky.
  11. Food Pantry: Work with Social Services director to acquire food boxes for students that request them.
  12. Community Resources: Provide transportation to students for appointments wtJ.en approved by the Booth Program Director. This includes appointments to doctor's offices, health and welfare, WIC, etc. Transportation is in a Salvation Army Vehicle only and will follow all Salvation Army Protect the Mission (PTM) guidelines.
  13. Coordinate and oversee Weekend Supplemental Breakfast Bag Program (Donor Funded)
  14. Ensure there is funding with Corps Officer, Office Manager, and Booth Program Director (25-26 school year is funded).
  15. Ensure that there are bags available each Friday for students who want them. Shop or coordinate with others to gather breakfast items, communicate dietary needs with students and their children.
  16. Work with Volunteer(s) as needed to pack bags for distribution.
  17. Submit receipts to the Program Director in a timely manner for tracking.
  18. Accurately record which students receive bags and record data in Wellsky.
  19. Assist students/families with filling out all Salvation Army paperwork (enrollment packets, family service forms, photo release, etc) needed for the Booth Program.
  20. Answer program phone, check messages, relay messages to the Booth Program Director as needed, and return phone calls to clients and others who need Booth Program information.
  21. Assist with, create, and/or oversee Booth Program and Salvation Army outreach services. This includes seasonal parties, open house, Graduation, and outreach events. For The Salvation Army this includes seasonal events and fund raisers/drives, Dress-a-Child, Toy & Joy, Red Kettle Kick Off (Fall), and The Daffodil Tea (Spring).
  22. Communication for The Booth Program
  23. Ensure that all brochures and marketing materials are up to date and accurate for The Booth Program for Young Parents.
  24. Ensure that all social media related to The Booth Program for Young Parents content is being shared on social media platforms (Facebook, lnstagram) on a regular basis, keeping our community presence and engagement known.
  25. Ensure to follow all Salvation Army Media and photo consent policies and that forms are being completed and maintained in an organized manner.
  26. Assist the Boise Corps Development team by producing marketing materials for the program, student activities, holidays and special events (Community Baby Shower, Daffodil Tea, etc.).
  27. Directly handle, with participation from the Booth Program Director or Cascade Divisional headquarters PR and Media department or Corps Officer, when necessary, in creating all communication such as newsletters, flyers, donation requests, Community, and student correspondence.
  28. Other duties or tasks as assigned by Supervisor or Corps Officer.


Working Conditions:



  • Physical Requirements:


Must be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Able to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer. Ability to lift up to 40lbs.



  • Environmental Conditions:


Work will take place in a standard office and/or classroom environment. Special events may require a change of work environment.



  • Other Requirements:


Regular and punctual attendance is essential to this position.

This position has access to private information; it is important that confidentiality be observed.

Must have strong customer service skills.

Must be courteous and respectful to donors and community members.

Must be able to deal with angry individuals or individuals in crisis in a respectful and diplomatic way, either in person or by phone.

Miscellaneous:
