This includes contemporary media forms such as film, graphic novels, multimedia adaptations, theatre performances, and other popular genres. Applicants must be proficient in the cultural study of the Hebrew Bible, with research and instruction pertaining to themes including oral/scribal cultures of Judaism, historical criticism and textual analysis, genre studies, oral interpretation studies, translation and performance studies, etc. Strong preference will be given to applicants who work on the Hebrew Bible within contemporary media, through the lens of areas such as music, dance, new media studies, popular culture studies, film studies, or theater. Preference will be given to candidates with written and spoken fluency in Hebrew. This position will be placed in any one of the academic departments in the School of Arts and Humanities: History, Literature, Music, Philosophy, Theatre and Dance, and Visual Arts. The position may also be a joint appointment between two departments in the School of Arts and Humanities. The department placement within the School of Arts and Humanities will depend on the individual. Qualifications Basic qualifications

MFA and/or PhD in literature, history, religion, and performative or visual art or a related field. Applicants must demonstrate a minimum of 4 years of teaching experience in an academic or studio environment. Applicants must be proficient in the cultural study of the Hebrew Bible, with research and instruction pertaining to themes such as oral/scribal cultures of Judaism, historical criticism and textual analysis, genre studies, oral interpretation studies, or modern translation, art, or performance studies. Preferred qualifications
