Position Description: Senior Sourcing Specialist
Reporting to: Director, Procurement
Department: Procurement
FLSA Status: Full-Time, Exempt
A. General Overview
The Senior Sourcing Specialist is a key member of Weisiger Group's Procurement Sourcing Group (PSG), responsible for independently leading competitive sourcing events, negotiating contracts, and driving value across multiple indirect spend categories. This role ensures that procurement strategies align with Weisiger's business goals by delivering cost savings, risk reduction, supplier consolidation, and compliance with governance standards.
B. Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • 6-8 years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles, with strong focus on indirect procurement.
  • Demonstrated success leading competitive sourcing events and contract negotiations for categories such as MRO, Facilities, IT, Fleet, Professional Services, and Corporate Services.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred), sourcing platforms, and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes.
  • Preferred certifications: CPSM, CSCP, Six Sigma Green Belt, or equivalent.
C. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing events for indirect categories, including requirements gathering, RFI/RFQ/RFP development, supplier evaluation, and contract award.
  • Develop negotiation strategies, conduct supplier negotiations, and deliver measurable cost savings and risk mitigation.
  • Partner with functional stakeholders to ensure sourcing strategies meet business needs, service levels, and compliance standards.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for supplier consolidation, spend visibility, and process improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement BI Analyst to:
    • Develop dashboards and reports in Power BI.
    • Track spend under management, supplier performance, and contract compliance.
    • Present actionable insights to PSG leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support supplier onboarding, contract management, and vendor master data accuracy in SAP.
  • Participate in quarterly business reviews and supplier performance management activities.
  • Monitor and report on the sourcing event calendar to ensure deliverables and deadlines are met.
  • Recommend and help implement improvements to procurement governance, compliance, and policies to increase maturity of the PSG.
D. Required Competencies and Skills
  • Deep expertise in indirect procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional projects with minimal supervision and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools (Power BI preferred).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to engage effectively with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and senior leadership.
  • Solid understanding of procurement governance, risk management, and compliance requirements.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a growing, evolving procurement function
