This position is responsible for the strategic planning and development, daily planning, organizing, managing, coordinating, and evaluating the activities for one or more ambulatory clinics or units. Ensures the efficient day-to-day operational function of assigned area(s) adheres to quality and patient care standards. Plans, organizes, manages, and monitors daily clinic performance. Develops and manages department budget. Oversees day-to-day operations of resources (human and material), space and equipment, patient registration, scheduling, office operations, charge capture, physician relations, and the general business functions of assigned area(s).

I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Manages the overall operation of the clinical practice in accordance with hospital policies, standards of nursing practice, and governmental regulations providing excellent care for all patients. Coordinates clinical practice and deployment of resources at the clinic level to ensure ongoing implementation of processes and adherence to standards.
2. Develops Scope of Service and Plan of Care for the identified area. Submits to senior leadership for approval.
3. Conducts daily patient care rounds, assessing patient care requirements and monitoring nursing and ancillary staff performance to achieve safe, cost effective and quality patient care.
4. Manages the oversight of clinical practice through continuity of patient care assignments to optimize the patient plan of care and ensure a plan of care is established, coordinated, and delivered to each patient and family.
5. Implements patient care standards, policies, and procedures and ensures clinic-based standards of care are in accordance with departmental, organizational, and/or compliance related standards.

II. Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:

Required:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
2. Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license.
3. Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.

Preferred:
1. Master's degree in Business Administration.
2. Master's degree in Nursing.

Experience/Skill:

Required:
1. Minimum three (3) years of directly related work experience in the specialty area in a hospital, healthcare environment, or ambulatory clinic.
2. Previous leadership/management experience.
3. Must possess the interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) to provide effective participative leadership and to interact with patients, families, physicians, staff, and visitors.
4. Analytical skills to perform various data analysis techniques, review statistical data for the purpose of department planning and control, in the preparation and maintenance of budgets and in problem solving.
5. Proven project management and presentation skills.
6. Proven track record of fostering teamwork.
7. Proficiency with Microsoft applications.

Preferred:
1. Previous experience in an Academic Residency Clinic.
2. Previous clinical experience in specialty area of focus.

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
