Overview
Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Systems Engineer - Staff Principal in support of the Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Special Operations Forces (ISR & SOF) Directorate. EPASS Program: (Engineering, Professional, and Administrative Support Services) supports the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's ISR & SOF Directorate in equipping our warfighters with advanced intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and special operations capabilities. Candidates will help deliver responsive acquisition, sustainment, and modernization support for Air Force and allied missions worldwide.
This is a full-time position located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (AFB).
Responsibilities
Support ISR Technology Development
Help develop and transition advanced ISR technologies into Air Force systems Provide expertise in radar, space-based systems, atmospheric radar, and wideband sensor links
Support GEOINT Engineering & Tech Development
Provide GEOINT engineering services for evaluating and integrating new sensor capabilities Support SAR, HALRGC, LADAR/LIDAR, and Hyperspectral Imaging development and integration
Translate User Requirements into System Specs
Convert DoD user needs into system requirements for contractors Support system design, development, analysis, and trade-off studies
Draft and Review Documentation
Create and review SOOs, SOWs, plans, schedules, and compliance documents (e.g. SEP, LCSP) Collaborate with test teams on test plans and requirement verification
Analyze Technical Proposals
Review proposals, system specs, and ICDs for cost, feasibility, and compatibility Ensure technical alignment with mission needs and standards
Conduct System Performance Assessments
Evaluate system performance, cost-effectiveness, and technical feasibility Perform lifecycle, reliability, and risk management assessments
Support Systems Integration
Help integrate systems and subsystems for acquisition and deployment Develop integration/test plans, resolve interface issues, and support ICD development
Qualifications
Minimum Experience: Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS Education: Bachelor's degree Years of Experience: Minimum 25 years relevant experience to include:
- Minimum of 12 years supporting the DoD
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Education: Master's or Doctorate Degree in a related field and at least 20 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 12 years of which must be in the DoD. Additional Experience:
Be able to apply DoD principles, including DoD 5000.01 and 5000.02, along with USAF, AFMC, AFLCMC Engineering Directorate, ISR & SOF Directorate, and Division-level policies to all AFLCMC/WIN engineering tasks. Perform data gathering, entry, analysis, and leverage expertise in the acquisition process - Possess the ability to perform tasks and oversee the efforts of junior, journeyman, and senior contractor personnel within and across multiple technical/professional disciplines. (Program Office, Enterprise, Staff and Executive Level Support interface)
