Your impact as a Consultant, Transaction Strategy (TS)

A Consultant in the Transaction Strategy practice is an experienced professional who possesses a full understanding of an area of specialization in the human capital arena. In addition, the incumbent has an understanding of business strategies and how to translate direction into tactical plans. The TS Consultant possesses the capability to resolve a wide range of issues in creative and innovative ways. The incumbent will work as part of a client team to deliver work and may manage small to mid-sized projects within the TS practice. The TS Consultant possesses foundational knowledge of employee benefits and/or compensation.

What the day will look like

Keeping Clients First

  • Contribute as a team member and manage components of client HR consulting engagements covering compensation and benefits, talent and retention, HR policies and programs and related HR matters for projects relating to corporate transactions, total rewards strategy development, HR process reviews and similar areas
  • Serve as an engagement manager for small- to mid-sized client projects or relationships
  • Perform HR due diligence or engage other subject matter experts (SMEs) to conduct due diligence for clients including reviews of HR and business transition information provided in confidential data rooms and/or via interview processes
  • Consolidate data/input and prepare due diligence reports
  • Support development of integrated project plans that ensure on-time and within budget delivery of agreed upon project scopes of work
  • Provide both qualitative and quantitative advice to clients
  • Participate in client planning and client innovation discussions with client teams and bring new ideas to retain clients and increase revenue

  • Engage in team collaboration to leverage contributions across lines of business and markets
  • Follow key industry/market trends and technology to ensure the relevance and innovative approach of Aon's solutions and capabilities for transactions and other strategic projects

  • Build and manage relationships across multiple clients
  • Utilize and contribute to toolkits and knowledge resources
  • Contribute to proposals and other selling efforts

Commercial Acumen

  • Partner with thought leaders to connect with client and design/delivery teams in other lines of business to create holistic human capital and business transformation consulting offers

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Broad employee benefits and/or compensation experience/knowledge through consulting activities or equivalent corporate experience
    • BONUS: Experience with client-facing consulting activities for support of HR-focused merger/acquisition, divestiture and other transaction engagements and/or business transformations, or equivalent corporate experience
  • Ability to demonstrate the personal impact required to gain trust and credibility with internal and external contacts
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and reasoning skills
  • Demonstrated presence and ability to communicate well with others/strong presentation skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work with software tools and platforms, including strong capabilities with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to effectively work within a team participating and contributing to team discussions and decisions
  • Ability to prioritize work, take ownership of tasks, personal and professional development
  • Strong project management skills

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Management, Human Resources or other qualified disciplines, or MBA or JD
    • BONUS: project management certifications, SHRM certifications, compensation and benefits work experience

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $90,000 - $125,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

his position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
