We're seeking an Upstream Sector Leader to join our Global Natural Resources - Energy Practice. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with highly experienced and esteemed insurance professionals in the industry, providing strategic guidance for clients in the Upstream Energy sector.

You'll stay close to the pulse of the market-translating data and insights into tailored solutions, guiding clients through both routine decisions and major inflection points, such as claims or new ventures. Cross-functional teamwork is part of the rhythm: whether working with colleagues across geographies, sectors, or specialties, you're connecting the right people and resources to deliver for clients.

Ultimately, your role is about leadership-of relationships, of strategy, and of value creation. Each day, you'll help ensure that Aon remains a trusted, indispensable partner in the success of your clients' businesses.

  • Leverage extensive knowledge in Upstream Energy specialization and business strategies to retain and expand Aon's portfolio of Upstream Energy clients through relationship cultivation with senior decision-makers and operational contacts.
  • Oversee Upstream Energy book, analyzing diverse situations and data to draw conclusions that enhance business operations. Lead the renewal process, develop and implement tailored renewal strategies. Collaborate across geographies and business units to deliver comprehensive solutions and grow client relationships.
  • Bring demonstrable business experience and deep functional area knowledge to implement organizational strategies through resource management.
  • Develop and define strategies aligned with organizational goals, managing business, functional, and operational processes.
  • Provide innovative insights and leadership to drive business change and advancement.
  • Supplies thought leadership and innovation to the advancement of the business.
  • Strengthen executive-level client relationships, and mobilize resources to meet client risk and capital management needs.
  • Facilitate strategic relationships between clients, Aon, and insurers.
  • Evaluate commercial risk financing programs and perform coverage comparisons with brokers across major business lines.
  • Secure existing business and drive sales of additional services across solution lines, working strategically to cultivate client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrate detailed understanding of Aon's capabilities, maximising the network to fulfill client risk objectives and conducting needs assessments to coordinate resources effectively.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and proactively introduce innovative ideas for client risk management.
  • Exercise strong influence within the organization to align resources with client needs, solving complex risk management challenges.
  • Lead stewardship planning, reviews, and execution to highlight Aon's ongoing value and partnership.
  • Advise clients on risk management, risk transfer, insurance market developments, benchmarking, and data insights.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of appropriate risk insurance experience coupled with project and account management experience on mid to large accounts.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, P&L management, and financial reporting.
  • Exceptional talent leadership skills within multiple locations, including recruiting, performance management, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong client-facing and relationship management abilities, with a focus on long-term partnerships.
  • Proven track record to develop and implement pivotal initiatives and lead growth effectively.
  • Knowledge of industry trends, challenges, and standard processes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of industry experience.

  • A Property and Casualty Brokers License is required, or must be acquired within 120 days of hire if not already active.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $250,000 to $300,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
