Title: Regulatory Accounting Analyst Company: Peoples Gas System State and City: Florida - Tampa Shift: 8 Hr. X 5 Days \| 4 onsite/1 remote WHAT YOU'LL DO The Regulatory Accounting Analyst is responsible for regulatory accounting and reporting functions, including, but not limited to journal entries, account reconciliations, regulatory reporting, budget and forecasting, audit requests, account analysis and special projects as needed. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Prepare journal entries Reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts Prepare reports filed with regulatory agencies including the EIA and FPSC Contribute to department month-end closeout responsibilities Prepare account analysis and research account variances Contribute to the preparation of budgets and forecasts Assist with ad hoc reporting and special projects Assist with the preparation of data requests during rate cases and audits What We're Looking For Must Haves: Bachelor's degree in accounting from a regionally accredited university or college Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or financial-related field will be accepted in lieu of the bachelor's degree in Accounting No financial work experience is required, but it is preferred Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with proficiency in Microsoft Excel Self-motivated Detail oriented Strong analytical skills Organized Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams Nice-to-Haves: One or more years of financial work experience with regulated utility accounting experience Knowledge of software/systems such as SAP, Power Plant and Allegro Competencies: Takes Ownership and Acts with Integrity Drives Operational Excellence for Customers Builds Strong, Collaborative Relationships Cultivates Innovation and Embraces Change Thinks Strategically and Exercises Sound Judgement WHERE AND HOW YOU WILL WORK Finance teams, Tampa Electric Regulatory Accounting, Executive Leadership, Regulatory Affairs, Operating Areas, Internal Audit, Tax, Human Resources Regulators (such as the FPSC), External Auditors, Consultants/Contractors, Industry Associations WHY YOU'LL LOVE WORKING WITH US We proudly offer a competitive total rewards package and other perks to help keep you thriving: Performance Bonus: Earn an annual incentive bonus that recognizes your hard work.
