The Director, Business Solutions is a critical leadership position on the Information Technology leadership team


The Director, Business Solutions is a pivotal leadership role responsible for bridging thegap between business strategy and IT execution. This individual will champion all IT projects, establish robust project management methodologies, and manage the overall project portfolio to ensure timely and on-budget delivery of solutions that align with business objectives. They will lead the Business Solutions team, fostering a deepunderstanding of business needs and translating them into impactful technology solutions. This role is critical in driving continuous improvement, enabling scalable business analytics, and integrating AI.

Primary Duties

  • Strategic Project & Program Leadership

    • Oversee the lifecycle of all IT projects and programs, from initiation through the precise definition ofrequirements and scope, formal handoff to development teams, and ultimate closure.
    • Develop, implement, and refine project management methodologies and best practices across the ITorganization, ensuring seamless transitions from planning to execution.
    • Manage the IT project portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic business priorities and optimal resourceallocation, preparing comprehensive project plans and detailed specifications for development handoff.
    • Act as a hands-on Project Manager for key, high-impact initiatives, meticulously preparing projects forefficient commencement by the technical teams
    • Manage M&A implementations and large ERP projects to navigate complex integrations and systemtransformations, ensuring all preparatory phases are complete before technical implementation begins.


  • Business Partnership & Solutioning

    • Serve as a primary liaison between IT and business units, deeply understanding business challenges andstrategic goals.
    • Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable technology requirements and solution designs thatare ready for consumption by the development and ERP teams.
    • Ensure that proposed and implemented technology solutions directly address business needs and delivermeasurable value.
    • Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement through technology.


  • Team Leadership & Development:

    • Lead, mentor, and develop the Business Solutions team.
    • Provide guidance and oversight to the ERP Administrator on day-to-day operations and project-basedenhancements for the ERP system.
    • Directly mentor the Business Analyst to enhance their detailed requirements gathering skills and support theirgrowth as a Technology Trainer for the organization.


  • AI & Analytics Enablement:

    • Collaborate with the Technology Trainer to drive organizational understanding and adoption of AItechnologies.
    • Partner with the Software Architect to identify, explore, and implement AI use cases and scalable businessanalytics solutions.


  • Technical Debt & Operational Excellence

    • Work closely with the Software Architects to prioritize and manage initiatives for technical debt reduction,ensuring that modernization efforts align with business value
    • Champion processes that enhance operational efficiency and system stability within the purview of businesssolutions.



Qualifications

  • Ability to develop and implement IT strategies aligned with business goal
  • Strong leadership, proactive mentoring, and exceptional communication skill are cirtical for this role
  • Proven experience with managing projects and large scale change initiatives
  • Broad understanding of technology trends and applications is important

Education / Experience

  • Bachelors degree in information technology, computer science, computer engineering or in a related field
  • 8-10 years of experience in IT including several years experience in an IT management/leadership role
