Ericsson has created a software development team in Austin, Texas to work on 5G! We work with the latest generation of 5G broadband wireless technology. Our unit is responsible to systemize, design, implement and integrate software features to control the air interface. What You Will Do: We are looking for Baseband Software Developers to join our 5G NR RAN function development team. Your role will focus on design and development of software content for Ericsson's gNodeB products. You will design, implement, and integrate software features for 5G NR RAN functionality including for Cloud RAN deployments. As a Developer you will be responsible for software activities like requirement analysis, design, SW coding, integration, verification, configuration management, product line support and product documentation towards realizing 5G features on Baseband. Responsibilities. * Develop software, implement new functionalities in C / C++ / Java code, often in a multi-core target environment * Perform continuous analysis and Requirement Handling * Apply knowledge of Real-Time Software development and wireless communication protocols (5G, LTE) * Perform software deliveries using a software version control system * Develop automated test cases to ensure existing functionality is never degraded by new software * Document all system analysis, software designs and unit test plans * Work collaboratively in small cross-functional teams that include design and system engineers. What You Will Bring: * Excellent knowledge in general purpose programming languages C/C++. Python experience is a plus. * Excellent knowledge in Linux environments * Experience working in a git/gerrit based development flow * Experience working in a CI based development environment using e.g. jenkins or similar * Experience with 3GPP LTE/NR L1 and L2 or L3 development/design. * Knowledge of 3GPP standards - L2 (MAC and RLC/ PDCP), data and control plane, and interactions with L1 and L3 * Masters (+2 years experience ) or Bachelors (+5 years experience) degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with demonstrated experience and knowledge in the above mentioned required skills area What happens once you apply?
