We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Account Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be the key liaison between internal departments and external customers, ensuring seamless order fulfillment and exceptional service delivery. You will specialize in resolving order delays, managing customer expectations, and driving operational excellence across multiple business functions including Sales, Distribution, Supply Chain, Finance, and more. This position supports a diverse customer base-domestic, international, and inter-company-and plays a vital role in delivering a world-class customer experience.
Key Responsibilities Order Management (30%) * Oversee end-to-end order fulfillment, from booking to delivery, including mentoring offshore team members. * Manage sales order processes including customer communication, issue resolution, container bookings, and customs documentation. * Maintain accurate purchase order records and monitor backlog to support financial forecasting. * Process and coordinate customer returns, balancing service quality with cost efficiency. Customer Relationship Management (40%) * Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and cross-functional teams. * Serve as the primary point of contact for order status, delivery updates, and issue resolution. * Collaborate with Sales, Distribution, and Supply Chain teams to prioritize shipments and meet customer expectations. * Participate in customer meetings and manage expedited delivery requests. Systems & Compliance (30%) * Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and internal controls. * Utilize SAP/S4 HANA, EDI, and other systems to streamline order processes and improve efficiency. * Analyze data to identify trends, propose solutions, and implement process improvements. * Support strategic initiatives and contribute to cross-functional project teams. *Qualifications/Requirements* Education & Experience * Associate's degree in Business or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred. * 1-3 years of experience in a business or office environment, preferably in Consumer Packaged Goods. * 5+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Technical Skills * Proficiency in SAP/S4 HANA and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). * Experience with order management systems and EDI interfaces. Core Competencies * Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills. * Ability to manage complex situations and adapt in a fast-paced environment. * Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities. * Collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement. Preferred Qualifications * Experience in supply chain or logistics. * Familiarity with trade compliance and regulatory documentation. * Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence without authority.
