These team members work closely with journeyman electricians - seasoned experts who lead, mentor, and deliver quality work on complex industrial projects.

Journeyman Electricians collaborate daily with foremen and site superintendents to coordinate work, manage risk, and keep jobs moving safely and efficiently. Across every role, safety is nonnegotiable. Every team member is expected to followsafetyrequirements, use PPE properly, and uphold Interstates' ZeroInjury expectations.

Journeyman Responsibilities

This role is ideal for licensed electricians who want steady national travel,hands-on industrial work,and career advancement opportunities.

Core Work Includes:



  • Measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling, and installing raceways
  • Overseeing or participating in wiring installations using conduit and cable tray
  • Connecting power to motors, equipment, and industrial systems
  • Leading, training, and developing up to four apprentice electricians
  • Collaborating with other trades to support coordinated jobsite workflows
  • Standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs. in an active construction environment
  • Climbing ladders and scaffolding and maintaining balance while carrying tools or materials
  • Working at heights and in outdoor or higherrisk jobsite conditions
  • Using required personal protective equipment (PPE) and following all safety protocols
  • Performing additional duties as assigned to support project success


Qualifications

Education & Experience

We are seeking licensed Journeyman Electricians with industrial experience who are open to national travel and interested in using, or learning, BIM/VDC tools for project coordination.

Required:



  • Stateissued Journeyman Electrician license (or equivalent; 8,000 documented hours accepted where no state license exists)
  • Industrial electricalexperience (strong commercial experience considered)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel fulltime to job sites across the U.S.


Preferred:



  • Familiarity or interest in BIM/VDC tools and digital construction workflows


Location &Travel Expectations



  • National travel to industrial job sites
  • Per diem and mileage stipends provided per company policy
  • Work schedules vary by project phase; occasional weekend work may be required
  • Typical work weeks range from 40-60 hours, aligned with Interstates' commitment to safe work pacing


Work Schedule

Start times, break times and work hours vary per site and stage of our projects. Our employees are expected to work overtime as needed but no more than 60, as part of our commitment to safety. Due to the type of construction, weekend work maybe required on occasion.

Work Environment

This role involves active industrial construction work, including exposure to heights, confined spaces, dust, outdoor conditions, and moderate noise levels. Journeymen are expected to follow all safety requirements, use PPE properly, and always uphold Interstates' ZeroInjury expectations.
