Job Summary

The Service Oiler will lead all aspects of lubrication for power plant, pumping and heavy civil construction equipment. This is a safety critical position that will require operating equipment on-site and driving between jobsites. Must have the ability to lift, load/unload parts and materials, and perform routine preventative maintenance services on earthmoving and related equipment such as, but not limited to, refueling equipment, and checking and refilling all fuel levels.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lubricate and clean pumps, engines, blowers, compressors, motors, gears, ejectors, and other operating equipment.
  • Assist in the operation, maintenance and repair of various equipment.
  • Read meters and gauges.
  • Keep maintenance logs.
  • Operate lubricant filtering and purifying equipment.
  • Maintain lubricant inventory.
  • May operate a motor vehicle in the performance of assigned duties.
Education
  • Three years of full-time satisfactory experience in the lubrication, and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
  • MSHA Certification.
  • OSHA 10 hr Certification.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification desired.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment urinalysis and physical abilities test.
  • Use vision to read small numbers and markings on gauges and equipment.
  • Use vision and hearing to avoid injury from overhead piping and rotating machinery.
  • Communicate orally in a noisy working environment.
  • Climb stairs, ladders and over equipment.
  • Stand upright for extended periods of time.
  • Work in areas containing gases from the combustion process and strong odors from grease, lubricants and solvents.
  • Lift objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
