This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of Oregon's juvenile justice system by supporting youth transformation, agency innovation, and system-level change. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the Deputy Director supports the Director in the oversight and direction of the agency's secure facilities, community-based services, internal operations, and research and policy initiatives. This position acts as the Director's designee, represents OYA across state government and with community partners, and provides leadership to ensure agency programs are trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate, and rooted in equity and accountability. The ideal candidate will bring emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, and deep alignment with OYA's mission to provide safe environments and positive youth development opportunities.
